Absolutely horrible place! If I could give zero stars I would. They give little to no attention to their animals. The dogs are from puppy mills and get very little care, the cats are locked in cages hissing at the workers, the snakes are not kept in proper environment or being fed. Plus the mice they feeding the snakes are ill and look as if they have diseases. Workers are very rude and could care less about any questions you have. They basically get paid to stand around. Do not go here.
All of the snakes especially the ball pythons in their collection have scale rot, Severe dehydration, and are on their deathbed. I told management and they didn’t even seem to care. I will never be bringing my business here ever again. I would’ve purchased them however it was far too late they are going to die within days.
In response to the owners comments: I am skilled enough at keeping ball pythons to know what dirt looks like vs scale rot. The sales associate even told me that the snake hadn’t eaten in weeks. The animal control officer I sent even told me that this is not the first time they have had to do a welfare check on your business. Also when another girl went in to view the snake I was speaking of she found a dead lizard.. so no you don’t know how to take care of them. Also they hate lights so heat lamps is terrible for their care.
I love going to this pet store because it has so many cute breeds of dogs, cats, mice, rabbits, birds, hamsters, snakes, fish, tarantulas, and lizards. Everyone's very kind there and all the animals seem very happy and well taken care of. I would know because I got my cat there and she has had no problems. Also, they were able to tell us her background, which was at a vets place so we knew she was taken very good care off. She is so playful and friendly! I love just biking to this store and I have always wanted to work there!
This is a great place. Our dog came from the Pet Pad and he will be 15 yrs old in May 2018. He has always been a very healthy and happy boy. We just have the one dog, but love to see the new puppies when we have time to visit. I recommend this place, and would not hesitate to welcome another member to our family from here, when the time is right. Thank you Pet Pad.
I cannot attest to pet adoption through The Pet Pad, but I can attest to the owner's willingness to work with me. My daughter came up with the idea of having a puppy party for her 16th birthday. After not locating a litter of puppies she and her friends could play with, I e-mailed Brad to see if this was something The Pet Pad could do. He replied within a few days saying yes. I visited the store and spoke with him and Diana. They were both very nice and accommodating to my unusual request. They set aside an area in the store on a day and time we set for my daughter and her friends to play with the puppies for an hour. All of the employees were very friendly, also. The party went off without any hitches. They refused to take any money for the store, so I made a generous contribution to the charity in Durham they support.
