Have been shopping here with my dog since she was a small puppy. Went in the store today to pick up an order, and apparently REI has changed its pet policy, which is fine and I respect that. My problem was the sales person who decided to shout the new policy at me from another aisle in front of a store full of people shopping for Christmas. She then moved closer to me and as rude as she possibly could told me it was now the store policy. GEEZ!!
You gotta love REI. I go here mostly for rock climbing gear. They recently (like a year ago) expanded their climbing gear section. They offer around 10 different shoes for both men and women. Their staff has always been pretty helpful too. The thing to keep an eye out for is their garage sales where they sell a bunch of merchandise that has been returned for various reasons and on incredible sales. I've had several friends get great deals on barely used gear this way! Just call them to find out when the next garage sale is.
Use this store exclusively, great selection and outstanding customer service, last store visit was purely for pricing and to put hands on the products. I had 2 employees Mike and Ryan. Mike helped with trekking poles and was very knowledge. Ryan helped with tents he was very knowledgeable with tons of experience. He knew I was a beginner and offered alot of advice. I went in looking for a tent which he took out and set up 3 different models for me. I left with sound advice on tents, packs, cookware/stoves, and general trail knowledge. All in all Mike and Ryan were very professional and were actually excited to help me. Can't buy good customer service these days.
Great staff! We bought our (first) canoe from this store this past week and had a great experience from start to finish. We got the canoe recommendation from a friend and ordered online. Before our item arrived we went to the store to get sized for paddles. Tony helped us and was fantastic. When our canoe came in he taught us how to load and secure our canoe safely and made sure we had the right equipment. Tony is great and I would recommend this store to anyone looking for experienced staff. Looking forward to our future REI purchases!!

REI has the best and most helpful sales representatives!! My husband and I spent two hours in this store, putting up many tents and checking them out. Ryan and Liz both helped us out throughout this process. Ryan continued checking in with us and researching information during the entire 2 hour process! Liz was very helpful as well. Their assistance, enthusiasm and expertise are very appreciated by my husband and myself. Kudos to them!
