This school is so terrible. The split lunches separate you from your friends and you either eat at 10:24 which is way too early or 1:20ish which is way too late. Also the cafiteria has so much mold that I'm pretty sure it classifies as a living thing thing instead of a building. There are exposed pipes everywhere and even a huge suege pipe zip tied to the lockers in the girls locker room. The smell of urine coming from the bathrooms can be smelt from two hallways away and I've seen more graffiti on the walls than there are books in the library. There are giant cinder blocks on a roof that were thrown off and nobody knows who did it or why. The state of disrepair is so bad that a ceiling tile in the gym fell onto the head of a cheerleader during a pep rally, and a teacher had to awkwardly retrieve it. If only I could retrieve my dignity as swiftly as that teacher did the tile. Please help me.
I threw up 3 times writing this review just thinking about Apex High. The Cockroach infestation has really gotten out of hand. I am thinking about sending my kids to Friendship High because it just seem so much better than this trash ridden cockroach pit.
Its only the fifth week of school and I already have crippling depression and extreme anxiety! happy times :) also the cockroaches really like to listen to you its nice. Today in class i saw a cockroach fall from the ceiling everybody screamed and the teacher yelled at us. Honestly though don't send your kid to apex its disgusting and musty
The building and grounds are beautiful. I have a senior at Apex High School and a freshman that just started school there this year. My senior has thrived at Apex High School. She has taken many AP classes and has always had the opportunity to take an online class through NCVPSS if Apex High doesn't offer the class or if it is full. She is a straight A student and with all of the AP class opportunities as well as many Honors classes she has always had a GPA above a 4.0 and has always been challenged and never bored. She is in National Honor Society as well as Spanish Honor Society. Her favorite teacher is Ms Lasher whom teaches Spanish. There are many extra curricular activities at Apex High with marching band being one of them. She really loves being in marching band and I have never heard a bad thing about it from a student or a parent. If you will be new to this school I recommend trying to talk your student into joining the marching band. They will instantly have over one hundred friends and the kids in the band are some of the nicest kids in the school. My freshman just started at this school a week ago and is already going to start signing up for political club and is interested in doing track and/or cross country as well as gymnastics. She has no complaints. She loves her Healthy Living teacher and she really likes her Honors World History teacher as well as the material that she is learning. The student parking lot has only one entrance/exit and it can take a very very long time to exit from it when the lot is fairly full. We went to curriculum night tonight and it took me nearly 30 minutes to get from a spot near the football field gate to the stop sign off of Roberts Rd. Student Services as well as the main office are both wonderful and the administrative workers are always patient and happy to help with anything that they can.
Why is it that we can only wash our hands with cold water but the only temperature that comes out of the water fountains is warm??
