Beautiful accommodations. Tremendous staff- friendly, helpful, very professional and welcoming. Spa is awesome. Expensive but you get what you pay for. A first class resort.
This review is not based on actual stay in the hotel but based on a round of hotel and surround areas. The Umstead Hotel and Spa is primly located on Woodland Pond Dr, Cary near William B. Umstead State Park - Reedy Creek Entrance. On the other side of the hotel, SAP's beautiful campus is located. The Umstead Hotel has all the necessary amenities a good hotel should have. It is said to be one of the ten best hotels in the city and average room rent is above US $ 350 per night. It has got plush rooms, TVs and coffeemakers, cocktail bar, a restaurant and other amenities. Hotel also arrange entertainment in evenings. It has got ample parking space and its surrounding is beautiful with full of greenery and plantations.
I have come here for breakfast, brunch, dinner, spa only and stayed as an over night guest. For me it is a very nice, relaxing environment. I recommend Herons and The Umstead to anyone interested in treating themselves to a wonderful time.
Had a wonderful and relaxing day at the spa. Definitely got the VIP treatment. Well worth the cost. Lunch at the bar was delicious.
We visited the umpstead for our anniversary. This is our second time going. The service is incredible and the food is great. It was a wonderful stay. I originally gave it 4 stars because the spa messed up our reservation and separated us for our massages (it was supposed to be a couple massage), but the manager got in touch with us and reimbursed us for the massages. We look forward to visiting again soon!
The restaurant, Heron's, is wonderfully managed and staffed! The employees, from management to custodial, are all cheerful, polite and friendly so I assume it is a great place to work.
